“Wine speaks to all the senses: the eyes behold the color, tone, and shade; the nose, the bouquet, the fingers and lips caress the cool crystal; the ears delight in the subtle swishing of the liquid; the tongue rejoices in the reward of a rich harvest.” – Mary Lou Posch

It’s time to liberate those senses with the #WinePW chat this Saturday. This month its all about the Rosé. Whether you call it rosé, rosado (Spain), rosato (Italy) or “blush” – these terms all refer to pink wine and it can range between six basic colors, depending on the grape used and how long the grape skins were in contact with the juice. Rosés also come in a variety of styles including, sweet, off-dry or bone dry (my style!) and they pair with an even greater medley of foods.

The theme for our August Wine Pairing Weekend Chat is Rosé and… Why that name? Because there are ceaseless meal ideas that pair with a Rosé.  Wine Pairing Weekend is a group of bloggers who gather together once a month to create food and wine pairings around a theme. David Crowley started the group in June 2014 and it’s been going strong ever since.

Prior to the chat on Saturday August 12th, each participant will create a pairing and publish a blog post about it. Then we gather together via Twitter the second Saturday of the month to discuss our pairings. So why don’t you join in the fun? Even if you don’t have a blog, there is still time to go out and grab yourself a bottle of Rosé and make a meal. Even without the wine and food, you can still join the chat on Saturday, August 12 at 8am PST by following #winePW.
